The perils of being a people pleaser
Do you connect to any of the following …
You always run around and look after everyone else and the dog before yourself.
You hate to let people down or be a disappointment so you offer to do more things than you have the time and energy for.
You avoid confrontations at all cost and so very rarely tell someone if they have upset or annoyed you, and instead keep it bottled up inside and blame yourself.
If these resonate with you, I hear you.
Before I go on to say anything remotely negative about this personality type, please know this first…
You are wonderful. You have a big heart, and if everyone in the world were people pleasers there would be no cruelty or wars. So be proud and give yourself hug.
Having said that, there are negative aspects of this personality type and they are health related.
The unfortunate result of being a people pleaser is often exhaustion and under nourishment. The reason for this is that you are often last on your priority list, and this can lead to you feeling fatigued, run down, unmotivated, prone to illness when you go on holiday or take a break, skin complaints, aches and pains, poor digestive health and potentially poor menstrual health and more severe menopausal symptoms. Please note that you can be both over weight and under nourished at the same time.
If any of this rings true for you, hop on a free call with me and we can discuss how you can get your spark back, and get your energy back so you can do the things you want to and help the people you want to whilst feeling the best version of yourself.
It’s time for you to go back on your to do list! X
